Mary-Anne Mace
I grew up beside a mountain on the Hauraki plains of Aoteoroa / NZ and moved to the Canterbury plains, drawn to the rugged beauty of Te Waipounamu / Sth Island. I completed a Ph.D on creativity within the discipline of psychology with a particular interest in research methods, but heaved that to the side to concentrate on raising two chilldren, and never returned.
My design work focuses on experimenting with lace stitches and cable patterns to express my love of texture and nature. I love to design beautiful accessories, and in particular, shawls in both lace and fingering weight yarn.
I enjoy the challenge of working with lace, and bringing to life new motifs and textures with which to embellish knitted fabrics. Ultimately, my aim is to help people create beauty in a world that needs it more than ever.
My patterns are tested and edited. If you like my designs and wish to chat with like minded people, please join my Ravelry group - Lace Eater Designs. Feel free to ask questions there, or message me directly if you have any queries.
