Previous Work:

I spent 5 years managing the crochet site for About.com (starting when it was owned by the New York Times Company.)

In 2012, IAC bought the About.com network. I quit working with them in 2014.

They later rebranded the network as Dotdash Meredith and migrated some (but not all) of my patterns to TheSpruceCrafts.com. Their editors heavily edited my patterns, improving some of them but also introducing many errors, broken links and incorrect photos into my pages as well.

Please use extreme caution if you use any of my patterns posted at TheSpruceCrafts.com. Please be aware that any Getty Images you might see on those pattern pages are totally unrelated to the patterns!!

Before that gig, I worked as a textile designer and design department manager for textile companies in the fashion and home furnishings industries. In addition to crochet and knitting patterns, I have designed knits, prints, wovens and embroideries.

I also taught college-level textile design and trend forecasting classes. I’m a design school graduate with a major in textile design from FIDM LA (The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, Los Angeles). I hold a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Sweet Briar College, a small liberal arts college located in Virginia.
