Created this for inclusion on a pair of fingerless gloves that I plan to start working on this week. PDF has both the image that you see as the pattern photo and a little note for saying that you can use this pattern for personal profit, i.e. make items to sell.

No matter what colour it is made in, this motif essentially embodies the spirit of Rivendell as Tolkien portrayed it, whether the Rivendell of the happy, singing, charming elves in The Hobbit, or the Rivendell of the seemingly serene, strict, wise elves of The Lord of the Rings. Imagination is the only limit for this motif.

You will need two yarns in contrasting colours. You can easily make it taller, as the stitch pattern has an easy repeat. Pattern includes a simple chart along with fully written instructions.

The button flap on this pillow is composed of five rows of single crochet added after the fact, for a rich combination of texture. The pattern is quite simple and beginner-friendly, and is a simple one for working intarsia.
