Hello, I’m Elena!

Although I was born in a small city near Barcelona, I moved to the countryside many years ago. I live in a XVIII century house with my family, our dog, our chickens, cats… and, of course, our small flock of sheep. Here I founded Xolla, my yarn brand.

The creative process is the axis of my life: I knit, sew, embroider, weave, spin, dye, make pottery… But knitting is my main medium, through which I can express my love for what I believe is the best material in the world: wool.

I am inspired by what surrounds me and nature plays an important role in my designs and my choice of colors. I prefer earthy tones and I like to knit the more complex patterns. Being fair, I should declare myself addicted to colorwork.

I’m the owner of XOLLA.

At XOLLA, we aim to contribute preserving the Catalan wool heritage. Every year we collect the wool from local flocks to transform it into yarn so that it is no longer considered a waste.

Creating our yarns is a truly challenge but it also allows us to know every step the production process from sheep to yarn.
