Camille Romano
I am Camille, I am a French freelance visual designer based in Helsinki, Finland. I have always had a liking for textiles and handcrafts. I have started knitwear design in 2016.
Between November 2017 and April 2019, I was a sample knitter for The Sustainablist, working along with Verena Cohrs. I have been involved in sample knitting cardigans, sweaters, hats, socks, etc.
I was also the graphic designer and illustrator of Making Stories magazine, which I have developed with Hanna Lisa Haferkamp, from the first issue to the very last one in the spring of 2025.
I tend to like fairly simple and modern designs with interesting visual or technical details; I really like cables and the whole range of brioche stitches and cropped/oversized fits.
I currently have published patterns for Laine Magazine, 52 Weeks of Scrap Yarn by Laine Publishing, Brooklyn Tweed, Making Stories, Woolfolk Yarn, Biches et Bûches, Making Magazine and Schachenmayr. I am currently working for new patterns to be released in 2025.
