This pattern was inspired by Bernie Sanders’ amazing inauguration mittens - made from recycled sweaters by Vermont school teacher Jen Ellis.

The Montana beanie is worked in the round using the stranded colourwork technique, before decreasing to form a five-pointed flower pattern at the top.

Power-up with this retro 8-bit heart blanket. It’s made with a load of ‘closed’ granny squares stitched together – one for each ‘pixel’.
