Seedeaters are little songbirds that flock together and feed on…well…seeds. The slip stitches in this hat, with their colorful purl bumps that stand out from a Stockinette background, look like they could be mistaken for snacks by one of these adorable birds.

Mix-and-match the layers of these swap-able fingerless mitts. Make any number of liner gloves and outer gloves for more and more options!
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Mothwings is a sweeping shawl that blends five colorways in a fade that radiates in several directions. An overall, simple slip-and-Garter pattern crosses the fade, creating a deeply textured, woven appearance. Mothwings is big, light and lovely, and would look awesome in either dramatic or ethereal colors.
Knitting: Scarf
The moment I laid eyes on the golden green that Dragonfly Fibers dyed for this piece, I was transported to a dappled summer forest. The highlights within this lush green look just like shifting light among evergreens and brush. The contrasting pink made me think instantly of the wildflowers that grow near my home in the Pacific NW.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
As a little girl, I believed the moon followed us on our long car trips to the Jersey shore. In a world without seat belts, I’d lay in the back window of the station wagon and look up in wonder, the moon gliding overhead.
Knitting: Cowl
This light and lovely cowl is a breath of fresh air and a chance to use your minis, scraps, gradient kits or color-changing yarns!
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap

Hyperspanner is a long crescent created completely in Garter Stitch that allows two gorgeous yarns to play off of each other and shine. Hyperspanner is a name for a Star Trek tool that sounds much more majestic than “wrench” and seems to be apt for a shawl that consists of a large span of wild colors.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Power Lines is designed to highlight those small leftovers or oddballs of gorgeous fingering weight yarn you may have around.
Knitting: Cuffs
A quick knit and surprisingly warm! These mitts are worked in the round in a heavy fingering weight yarn, in a textured pattern that works well for tonal colorways. A bit of color, in a lighter weight, is added to complete the bind-off. Size can be adjusted easily by adding multiples of four stitches.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Any kind of fingering weight yarn can work to make this color and eyelet explosion.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap

It can be made with virtually any weight yarn. Your needle choice, gauge, and final size will depend on the yarn you use
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
A spidery, Gothic lace shawl, adorned with bleeding hearts, and edged with a kicky ruffle. It’s named for my friend Lisa, who was one of the Gothic Cheerleaders, a performance group in Seattle.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
A short and sweet version of the Rapunzel fingerless gloves, this time without any cables.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This pattern matches Beverly’s Bracelets. Each can be purchased separately or together.
Knitting: Table Runner
A festive, silly table runner - super fun to knit in color changing yarns. It looked to me like a candy-land road or an elf-sized red carpet. Knit as long or short as you like, based on your target table.
Knitting: Cuffs
I designed these little bracelets for a friend who edited my novel. After trying many, many yarns, gauges and cable combinations, this simple, chunky pair turned out to be just right. The little whale you see on my wrist is a symbol from my book and reminds me of what Beverly has helped me achieve.
Knitting: Afghan block
This squishy little square uses slip stitches to create a radiating design. When sewn together as a blanket, the slips create a diamond motif that stands out from the fabric and reminds me of the punched tin ceiling tiles in my grandmother’s kitchen.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Gauge is important! The shawl is designed to be petite - just 13”/33 cm down the back. If your gauge is too tight, you may end up with a beautiful kerchief.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Gauge should be 22 stitches per four inches. It is printed as 38 in the pattern. Exact gauge is not critical.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This shawl was previously part of the Twisted Shawlette Club. Thank you to everyone at Twisted for inspiring me to make this. It’s a great LYS in Portland, Oregon.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This stole was part of a book of designs inspired by Oregon locations. My “assignment” was farmer’s markets.
Knitting: Baby Blanket
This squishy Garter Stitch blanket is highly adaptable to almost any weight yarn and monochromatic or wild color combinations. It’s especially suited to self-striping yarn when used with a neutral main color. As I knit this blanket, its tilting lines and colors made me dream of pale frosting and a teetering chocolate cake.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This pattern is for a square shawl with an open neck that can be worked in any DK or worsted yarn and knit to any desired size.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This soft shawl/shawlette seems as basic and essential as a morning cup of coffee or tea. The slip stitch pattern is simple, and the shape is a classic triangle, worked from the bottom up so rows get smaller as you go.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
These fingerless mitts invite you to play with a small amount of special yarn, be it new yarn candy, a sentimental leftover, or perhaps your first handspun. The samples showcase a splash of color, like a jolt of sugar running up the side of each mitt. Making a colorful hand with a neutral stripe would be striking, too.
Knitting: Cowl
Hydrangeas have always held a place in our hearts in my family. Here, in the summer of the Pacific Northwest, they bloom in great washes of the most vivid lavenders and pinks. Some an almost electric cornflower blue. The dark ones a glorious purple. To me, they embody the lazy heat of summer as it slowly slips into a hint of fall.
Knitting: Scarf
A simple, pebbly scarf that shows off beautiful tonal yarn. Appropriate for beginners on up. Pattern instructions come in a 2-page pdf.
Knitting: Cowl
French Press is a lush cowl that features gorgeous yarn in a simple, irregular rib pattern. One ribbon, cord or other closure threads through a column of eyelets to scrunch and stylishly distort the cowl. It can be worn super scrunched, or loosely draped. Thanks to choice of closure, each knitter’s cowl will be a unique work of art.

An adaptable bonnet for oddballs, special yarn, striping yarn, handspun, or scraps. You name it.

Knitting: Cowl
A versatile, simple cowl/collar/neck warmer. It’s secured with a vintage clip-on earring, so adjusting the style is easy. It can be worn as a high neckwarmer, a slightly rolled cowl, or a rolled-down collar. It’s super easy and fast to knit, perfect for a treat for yourself or a last-minute gift.
Knitting: Pixie Hat
This simple and somewhat silly hat was first named the Meathead Hat, when it was part of an art installation 10 years ago. Today, that name does not make sense, and so I’ve changed it to a plant-based alternative. The hat seems like an upturned beet to me!
Knitting: Scarf
There used to be the sweetest little Cafe & Knittery in my neighborhood, and it was called Mabel’s. It’s turned to a coffee shop now, still wonderful but without the yarn and needles tucked in everywhere. This pattern is my tribute to old Mabel’s. A sample scarf that used to reside there was my jumping off point, but this scarf is far diffe...
