Back to school in our part of the world means a 50% off sale on this cute tunic.

I designed this sweet dress to capture the confidence and joy of little girl style.

It’s not unusual to find my 8-year-old friend Lizzy (nicknamed Bizzy) wearing a white faux fur jacket, leopard print sunglasses and pink cowgirl boots to go to the supermarket. This dress is named after her, and is designed to showcase beautiful colors in an outrageously big and playful collar.

The collar could instead be made in a variety of natural tones or used to highlight a special handspun or color-changing yarn. The body is a tunic that goes well over tights or yoga pants for playing or dancing.

SIZES

Child sizes: 2 4, 6, 8, 10, based on Craft Yarn Council standards (http://www.craftyarncouncil.com/childsize.html)

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

Circumference at underarm (to be worn with about 1.5” negative ease): 19.5” (21.5”, 23.5”, 25”, 26.5”)
Length from back of neck to hem: 16” (18”, 20”, 22.5”, 25”)
Length from armhole to hem: 11.5” (13”, 14.5”, 16.5”, 18.5”)

YARN NOTE

The collar takes a very small amount each of 5 contrasting colors. If using the Eco+, you will have a LOT left over for other projects. This collar could be a great use of worsted weight scraps, a special skein of handspun, or self-striping yarn. The collar uses 3 – 4 oz. of Worsted weight yarn.
