The modular, customizable Betiko shawl is joined by cabled, colorwork, and lace designs using the same unique construction.
Each individual pattern is $7; the four-pattern collection is $18; all patterns include 2 versions.
About Betiko (the original):
- modular shawl for any weight yarn, in any size
- includes 2 pattern versions - garter stitch edged, and customizable (with full instructions for the wavy version)
- includes detailed instructions for striping
- gives measurements for small{medium, large} sizes and notes on how to adjust for custom sizes
- diagrams and detailed notes explain how to plug in your own custom stitch patterns
- the original pattern was fully revised, reformatted, and improved in April 2013
About Biratu (cabled design):
- choose either fully cabled or simple variation with cabled edges only
- fully cabled pattern (cables worked in all parts of shawl) is for aran weight yarn
- simple variation (cables only around edges) is for any weight yarn, in any size
- all cables are charted, edge cables are also written
- both versions in small{medium, large} with custom sizing notes
About Lerro (colorwork design):
- choose either fully patterned or simple variation with twisted stitch edges only
- fully patterned design (twisted stitch patterns worked in all parts of shawl) is for fingering weight yarn
- simple variation with garter stitch striped body is for any weight yarn, in any size
- all twisted/slip stitch patterns are charted, edge patterns are also written
About Zulo (lace design):
- choose either fully patterned or simple variation with lace patterned edges and wedges only
- fully patterned version (lace worked in all parts of shawl) is for DK-worsted weight yarn
- simple variation (lace only around edges) is for any weight yarn, in any size
- all lace patterns are written and charted
- full pattern is for a standard size with size adjustment notes; simple version is for small{medium, large} with custom sizing notes
The original Betiko design was first self-published in late 2010 (first as a mystery knit-a-long, then as a normal pattern). The three new patterns were released spread throughout 2013-2015.
