X Sox
Simple speckled yarn is at its best when it’s used for an uncomplicated design: you don’t need to try too hard, just add some finer details. That’s the main idea for the X Sox. Show off your beautiful yarn!
The socks are knit from the toe up. The heel is a wrap & turn heel with no holes, and the stitch pattern is created simply by twisting stitches in two directions. When the socks are on your feet, you can see an X shape.
The pattern is written for both, the magic loop method and DPN’s and also for 2 different kinds of sock yarn: for heavier (approx. 350 m/100 g, 380 yd/3,5 oz) and lighter (approx. 420 m/ 100 g) ones. The stitch pattern is a little bit different due to the different stitch numbers, but the idea is still the same: an X shape.
The sizing is simple for both yarns: slim. If you have a wider foot, you can adjust the size by using a heavier yarn and bigger needles and knitting with the pattern for lighter yarn, where’s more stitches in round. The length of the sock is easily adjustable just for your size.
NOTE: Different converters give different US sizes for 2,5 mm needle. Ravelry says US1,5 and some others US2. In pattern it says US2 but I guess in Ravelry US1,5 might be more correct.
