It’s only been over the past couple of years or so that I have discovered the joys of gardening. I still have a lot to learn but watching the seeds and bulbs grow each year bringing with them an abundance of colour is such a lovely sight.
The Rose Garden shawl was inspired by my climbing roses coming back to life after a cold winter. Watch as the different stitch patterns start to grow with flower and leaf motifs blooming against trellis shaped diamonds.
The shawl uses 3 skeins of 4 ply yarn. I would suggest using solid or semi-tonal shades for the flower and leaf lace sections; however, the diamond shapes can take a lightly variegated yarn. All 3 skeins combine to create a large, drapey shawl that you can wrap yourself in over winter, with those lacy flowers being a reminder that summer will soon come around again.
This pattern has been tech edited and test knitted prior to publication. It includes written and charted instructions.
