In Italy, many fruit trees grow here and there in the wild. They do make fruits, and some of them are edible as the ones grown in the gardens. In spring, the pear trees start blooming before the leaf buds come out. The little, white flowers fill all the branches covering the long spines. The birds like to hide in the trees and if you pass by you can hear them singing without seeing a feather. When the petals begin falling, it’s like snow under the tree, tiny white flakes on the grass.
The Pero beret is knit from the bottom up. The Italian Tubular cast on gives a neat polished look to the edge. After the ribbed brim, the body of the hat is worked in a lace pattern that is inspired by the wild pear leaves.
