When I was a child, in some houses there was a floor made of cork. It´s not hard and it does not feel cold under your feet. I had never seen the cork oak tree as it does not grow in Finland.
Seeing these trees in Italy, I was fascinated. Its bark is different to any tree I have seen, it has such a rich, heavy texture. Looking at the trunk of this tree makes me think I’m in an enchanted forest in the middle of trees old hundreds of years.

The mittens have an Indian thumb gusset which has a great fit. A delicate pattern that covers the back of the hand is worked with twisted stitches, no cabling is required. The instructions are written for the Magic Loop method.
