This sweater is inspired by the colours of liquorice allsorts. Originally from Sheffield, they are very popular in Scandinavia. I designed this sweater during my last weeks in France, before moving to Amsterdam, where I knit it during lockdown, and it’s a nice keepsake of those first months in The Netherlands.

Notes on construction

Merryland is a circular top-down yoke sweater featuring stranded colorwork on the yoke and the bottom of the body and the sleeves. This sweater is designed for long winter weekdays, so it has standard ease that makes it comfy and stylish. The standard length goes down to the waist, but you have to adjust the body’s length to your preference if you want it cropped.

INFORMACIÓN EN ESPAÑOL

Merryland es una versión moderna de los suéteres nórdicos. Inspirado en los caramelos ingleses “All Sorts”, muy tradicionales en Ámsterdam y en los países nórdicos, este motivo también se asemeja a los azulejos de cocina y al papel pintado de los años 70. Este suéter se puede hacer en versión corta y larga. con distintos huecos para conseguir un estilo más o menos casual o clásico.
Diseñé este jersey durante mi traslado de Francia a Amsterdam y es uno de mis patrones favoritos.

Acerca de la construcción

Merryland es un jersey con canesú circular de colour-work que se teje desde arriba hacia abajo (top-down). Este patrón está diseñado para que los días de invierno no dejen de ser cool. Puedes tejerlo en dos largos diferentes: regular y corto (perfecto para llevar con vestidos).
