Some yarns just need simple stitches to shine. Such is the case with Handspun Hope’s Organic Merino Handspun. The slightly nubbly and dense texture calls for something simple that allows you to enjoy every stitch--graduated ribbing, interrupted by the occasional purl row, is my solution.

Sizes
Adult S (M, L, XL)
Finished Measurements
Circumference: 18 (20, 22, 24)“ / 45.5 (51, 56, 61) cm
Yardage
150 (165, 185, 200) yards / 137 (151, 169, 183) meters of a heavy worsted weight or aran weight yarn.
If you’d like to make a swap, look for yarns that are dense or closely spun, typically a characteristic of a small mill production or handspinning techniques. You’ll want a heavy, almost aran-weight yarn rather than a worsted that leans towards DK. Each stitch should feel round and solid. The model is wearing the hat a bit loosely to accommodate for fuller hair, and the sample is knit as a size L.
I have suggested some alternative yarns within the pages of the book:

Stone Wool Corriedale - USA
KINTRA Wool 2-Ply - Canada
