ABOUT
Brighten Sweater is a stranded colourwork compound raglan worked top down. The collar is worked in ribbing in the round before short rows are worked to shape the neckline (this is the only flat knitting for the entire sweater, and it’s just 14 rows!). The pattern calls for four colours, but is easy to modify for a scrappy version, or additional colours. Brighten Sweater pattern has 12 sizes and adjustable body & sleeve lengths. The colourwork is always just two colours at a time and avoids long floats.

EASE
This sweater can fit however you like! I knit the sample to fit the intended wearer with about 6 inches of positive ease. When selecting a size, I would encourage you to think about how you like things to fit your own body. If you like a closer-fitting garment, choose a Finished Chest Circumference with 2 to 0 inches of negative ease. If you like a looser-fitting garment, choose a Finished Chest Circumference with 2 - 6, or more, inches of positive ease.

YARN REQUIREMENTS
Your yardage will depend on your gauge, size and yarn chosen. These are estimates based on testing.

Fingering Weight Yarn
Each of four colours will use:
YARDS: 255, 300, 340 (380, 420, 460) 520, 560, 600 (650, 675, 750)
METERS: 235, 275, 310 (345, 385, 420) 475, 510, 545 (595, 615, 685)

Total yardage is 4 times these numbers. These yardages assume a length of 6 motif blocks (10 inches excluding ribbing), like the sample. Additional yardage will be needed for longer lengths.
