This basic sock pattern combines my favorite sock techniques and features. Together with my tips for good sock fit, I offer all I’ve learned about knitting socks.

This top-down triangular shawl starts with the total amount of stitches at cast-on, then decreases on both sides every row. The result gives you a wide wingspan with a shorter depth. It’s perfect for practical wearing, like a scarf under your coat or draped over your shoulders on cold days.

Knit in a wooly fingering weight yarn, these mittens will keep you toasty warm during all your outdoor adventures, including trips to your local farmers market in early Spring and Fall.

Meridian Lines is knit from one corner, increased to its widest, and then decreased to the opposite corner. This construction gives you a perfect square that can be worn folded in half and wrapped around your neck or draped across your shoulders or your lap.

Floating Blossom is a top-down, crescent shape shawl. Its center panel twists, trellis-like, with a ribbed cable. The body of the shawl holds floating berry blooms with more sweet cables bordering the shawl’s edge.

Knit in the round, the Meet Cute Cowl brings Seed and Brioche stitch together in perfect harmony. Knit with three colors, the Brioche sections make the color transition delightfully squishy.

The Meet Cute between seed stitch and brioche is like two movie characters who didn’t know they have so much in common. It just so happens that both seed stitch and brioche stitches require ‘happy couples,’ multiples of two, to work out well. Thus, this design became a blanket of love, complete with flirty tassels.

Aiaia is a light and airy shawl, perfect for Summer and the transition into Fall. Knit from side to side, Aiaia is an asymmetric triangle. Knit on the bias, increasing on one side while decreasing on the other, it’s a fun shape to knit. (Don’t worry if you don’t know what knitting on the bias is, you won’t even notice you’re doing it!)

Cumulus Skies is a large, top-down crescent-shaped shawl. It’s worked in both The Farmer’s Daughter Fibers yarns, deliciously Juicy DK and the cloud-like Oh Dang!.
