The beach colourway has been one of the most popular colourways since I started my business in 2017. For years I have been selling finished knits in this colourway, and now it’s time to release it to the lovely knitters. Enjoy!

Published first in the September 2019 issue of the Shetland Life and inspired by the heather found on the hills near my home. I hope you enjoy making this hat as much as I enjoyed playing with the purples from the Jamiesons of Shetland, Spindrift collection.

This hat has been made to match the Tina’s Mitts, also available in my Ravelry store.

The colours in Tinas Mitts were designed to show playful colours working together. I have adapted this traditional Shetland pattern to work well alongside the colours.

As a Fair Isle knitter I love working with many colours in each piece of knitting but during the first week of 2018 I felt like I needed to do something different to loosen me up and streach myself before the year got started.. So I made this easy cable knit for myself!

Small hand knit cowl using the colours and pattern originally used in Da Hömin Hat published in the Shetland Wool Week Annual 2016.

The curled cowl is extremely warm and easy to wear. The inspiration for these colours came from a photograph of the northern lights commonly seen in Shetland during the long winter nights.

Da Hömin is a word used in Shetland to describe the evening twilight. the colours in this hat represent this beautiful time of night here in Shetland.
