I think this collection best sums up my personal style. It reflects my prioritisation of comfort over trends, simplicity over fussiness, colour over texture (colour just wins - I am pretty obsessed with both). To keep it simple, the fair isle border is in just one colour, but you could experiment with two or three even!
The Fine Aran yarn lends itself beautifully to a very simple, fairly figure hugging jumper. Personally I don’t find the Peruvian wool at all itchy, and certainly the high percentage of Alpaca in this yarn makes it a lot kinder on the skin in any case, so it is easy to wear.
The bolero is versatile. It can be worn with jeans during the day, as our model has done, or jazzed up for an evening. It looks great with an empire line dress for example. Although only a small garment, it is surprisingly good at keeping you warm. I always find that if my back and upper arms are warm, then the rest of me is fine in early Autumn, and I tend to prefer garments like this that leave my arms free and don’t flap around my waist! The 9 - 11yrs version is just adorable. My model was reluctant to put it on, but after the shoot, she asked if she could keep it as she liked the feel of it so much!
The Classic hot water bottle is my favourite this season, and I am so glad I chose the Azul colour to feature it in, as I think it looks stunning.
Finally, the Kindle Case came about because my husband finally succumbed to this, not because he has fallen out of love with books, but because we have run out of shelf space! He wondered whether I might design a case for him, and I was happy to oblige. I thought a lot about how to fasten it, and came up with this design which doesn’t involve any poppers or buttons, or anything magnetic, which might end up scratching the kindle.
Sometimes the simple, classic, things of life are the best. Enjoy.
