I have recently started to tell knitting stories. There is an idea, or maybe we can call it a motif, and the pattern is exploring the development of this motif. While writing the story, I feet like it is rather writing itself. On each shifting point the options are clear to me- and the decision of which direction to follow is one of the most creative and enjoyable processes I have ever participated in. Therefore, these are not patterns that repeats themselves, every row is different- perhaps carrying the same motifs as before, but with a new angle. A story. As in my life as a nomad, I prefer to go with the flow of the rather than strictly follow the frame rules. This might present a challenge for some knitters, but I am hoping that most creative people have an understanding of this approach.
