This booklet contains 4 patterns which are named after four beaches in Fetlar, the island on which they were knitted in Shetland.
The first three patterns are versions of ones which many Shetland knitters began their Shetland lace knitting with. They are based on the auld shell, new shell and cockleshell patterns. The final pattern replicates the typical construction of traditional Shetland lace shawls & scarves without having to do any grafting or joining.
There are tips on knitting Shetland lace, reading charts as well as how to dress your knitting.
