Yndi
May Yndi become your new favourite hat? Not only does it have an exceptionally beautiful texture, but also a modern, timeless shape that makes it popular with adults and teenagers alike. It has been designed by Teti Lutsak for Cheeky Merino Joy in the colour Melange Pure - a yarn which makes it feel so soft that you won’t want to take it off. The pattern includes a shorter and a longer version so you can decide how far you want to fold the hem. Whether you want a tighter fit in a beanie style or a more upright and pointed look - Yndi can easily be adjusted to your wishes.
Yndi is easy to knit but doesn’t look like it - due to its sophisticated, unusual rib pattern. The design is ideal for beginners and for anyone who wants to try out an exciting ribbing technique. The hat in three sizes (S, M, L) starts with a long-tail cast-on and is knitted in the round from bottom to top. A classic 1x1 rib is combined with slipped stitches for the texture pattern. Simple decreases shape the crown of the hat.
Yndi is part of our first own collection 2020 with the theme Joy. It was conceived by Rosy and realized with a team around the world in times of a global pandemic. The pattern names are joyful expressions from different languages. They remind us that joy, diversity and solidarity across borders can give us hope and strength. Yndi means joy in Icelandic.
