INTRODUCTORY PROMO! This and all my other patterns and e-books are 25% percent off - no code needed - through the end of Sunday, 8/10 (MST)!

Eva of Seismic Yarn & Dyeworks is debuting the shawl at Flock Fiber Festival this weekend! You can pick up her Wonder Woman collection colorways in her booth, or order them dyed for you HERE. (Choose Butter Sock for your base and then the three colorways listed below.)

The Wondrous Shawl pairs the bold impact of two textured patterns with the delicacy of a wide lace border for a striking result. The colorways of Seismic Yarn & Dyeworks’ “Wonder Woman Collection” combine so perfectly to bring the inspiration to life.

This shawl is dedicated to anyone else who flew their invisible jet through an avocado-colored kitchen in 1979. (If you had the Underoos, I envy you.)

This pattern contains both fully charted and written instructions.

Recommended Yarn:
Seismic Yarn & Dyeworks Butter Sock — 85% extra fine superwash Merino / 15% nylon — 437 yds (400 m) to 100 g in total. Shown in the following colorways, with corresponding yardages (each with a 10% “yarn cushion”):

Woman of Steel (Color 1 - blue) - 400 yds (366 m) / Wonder Woman Red (Color 2 - red) - 415 yds (379 m) / Golden Lasso (Color 3 - yellow) - 415 yds (379 m)

Sizing:
73” (185 cm) across and 32” (81 cm) deep.

Blocked Gauge:
21 sts and 34 rows to 4” (10 cm) in stockinette st, 21 sts and 48 rows to 4” (10 cm) in textured pattern, and 21 sts and 31 rows to 4” (10 cm) in lace pattern — all on smaller needle.

Needles:
US 5 (3.75 mm) circular needle, 32” length, plus US 6 (4 mm) needle for bind-off.

PLEASE NOTE: As I tend to knit somewhat tightly, I actually used a US 6 (4 mm) needle for the sample with a US 7 (4.5 mm) needle for the bind-off. Changes in gauge will affect finished size, look of motifs, and amount of yarn used. To meet these dimensions and ensure enough yarn, be sure to use the needle size that gives gauge.

Other Materials:
Four stitch markers, tapestry needle.

Many thanks to Eva of Seismic Yarn & Dyeworks for her support! This pattern was professionally tech edited by Lisa Beth Houchins (Meanest Mommy Knits).
