What Knot
What Knot is one of four illusion ‘knots’. When you look at it from directly in front you see only stripes. You see the knot when you look from the side.
The square panel could be use as a wall-hanging or cushion. It could also be used as part of an afghan. You could repeat the design in different colours, in different orientations, or combined with my other knots.
The panel measures approximately 40 cm (16”) when worked in DK yarn using 3.25 mm needles. You might want to knit it looser if you are going to use it for an afghan. You can use any thickness of yarn but this might change the overall size. I used approximately 120 metres (130 yards) Stylecraft Special DK in each of two colours - Jaffa and Bright Pink. Extra is required for the borders.
The knot patterns can be bought individually or together in the ebook Knots and Not Knots. ‘Knot’ does not mean quite the same thing in mathematics as it does in everyday life - hence the title.
Set or ebook?
You can buy four illusion knots together in Knots and Not Knots.
You can also buy them as a set. If you buy three of the patterns you will automatically receive the fourth even if you don’t buy them all at the same time. The total price is the same whichever way you buy.
The ebook is probably more convenient than the individual patterns as you only get the general information once. The advantage of buying the set is that previous purchases will count towards your purchase.
