Julie’s designs are well-known for being clean, fashionable and architecturally interesting. The Vertex Vest is no exception – being equally exciting for the maker and the wearer. The origami-esque construction creates a beautiful drape that flatters the wearer. A deep ribbed collar and fully fashioned shoulder details create a versatile layering item with chic simplicity.
CONSTRUCTION
- There are 4 steps involved in creating the lower section of the vest. You will work both a Right and a Left lower section (Steps 1 and 2 of Right and Left fronts below), and then join the two pieces at the center Back (Step 3). Then, you will pick up stitches for the upper bodice (Step 4) along the side edge of the joined lower rectangles, and complete the upper section.
- The garment is worked in one piece to the armhole, then the fronts and Back are worked separately to the shoulders.
