With all the incredible self-striping and hand-painted yarns out there, sometimes I think we overlook the beauty of monochromatic texture. The Tumble Weave Beanie & Cowl were designed as quick projects that any knitter can make. The designs’ main “basket weave” stitch features simple knits and purls that create a checkboard pattern.

Beanie fits adult head, up to 22.5” in circumference. It’s 18.5” in circumference at the brim x 7.5” tall after machine wash & dry.

Cowl is 29” in circumference at the bottom (22” at the top) x 8” tall after machine wash & dry.

Skills required: Working in the round on a circular needle, decreasing, working ribbing. Instructions are written and charted.

Pattern includes both the beanie and the cowl.

The beanie and cowl can be knit with just one skein of RUFF+TUMBLE DK* each (you need 2 skeins to knit both), which is a super versatile, easy-to-care-for yarn with a slightly fuzzy texture for a rustic look.
