Trekking Socks
Amy spun a soft 2-ply yarn and knitted at a tight gauge to create a sturdy sock.
Materials
Fiber 4 oz carded roving blend of 70% Huacaya alpaca and 30% Babydoll Southdown wool. Alpaca/wool roving: It’s Sew Ewe, Traverse City, Michigan, www.ItsSewEwe.com
Yarn 2-ply; 320 yd; 1,523 ypp; 12-14 wpi; DK weight.
Needles U.S. size 1 (2.25 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Markers (m); cable needle (cn); stitch holder; tapestry needle.
Gauge 32 sts and 44 rnds = 4” in St st.
Finished Size 71/2” foot circumference and 91/2” long from back of heel to tip of toe; foot length is adjustable.
