Toltec Gorge Cowl
This stranded-knitting colorwork cowl is worked in the round using DK-weight yarn and an easy 2-color pattern. The piece is cast on at the bottom hem and then worked upward in the round following the chart. The colorwork pattern is a stylized version of the train tracks that run through the Toltec Gorge canyon in northern New Mexico. You can ride through the gorge on the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad, a historic train built in 1880 to connect the silver mining towns in the San Juan Mountains.
This pattern is a great beginner colorwork/stranded knitting pattern.
Yarn Requirements: You will need 1 skein of two colors - a main color (dark gray) and a contrast color (turquoise). Knit as written, you can get 2 cowls out of two 150-yard skeins by simply reversing the main color and the contrast color.
