Santa Fe Wrap
This long rectangular wrap features colorful stripes and a mosiac (slip-stitch) pattern on each end. It is knit from one short end to the center, and then the second half is knit to match. The ends are then grafted together at the center.
Yarn Requirements:
Main Color (Spice - brown): 4 skeins.
Contrast Color D (Black): 2 skeins.
Contrast Colors A, B, C and E: 1 skein of each color.
Inspiration: Santa Fe is New Mexico’s capital city. It has an eclectic mix of architecture that features neutral-colored adobe walls, but many homes throughout the city have wooden doors and trim painted a brilliant turquoise blue or purple.
I would like to thank the amazing contemporary Tewa artists whose pottery inspired the designs in this shawl. Their continuing mastery of craft and their willingness to share information about their traditions and their history is an important bridge to help us all keep learning and doing better.
This shawl is also available as a kit n the original yarn/colorways at Wall of Yarn.
