Socks are so small, and shorty socks even smaller…it’s a lot of fun to try out different shaping, short rows, and even tweaking the numbers so you get an actual foot-shaped sock!

In this sock design, I give some tricks and tips that might be fun to try just once, or might migrate into your own favorite go-to vanilla sock.

Some of the problems addressed are:
Is it sometimes hard to pull a sock on over your ankle?
Does the cuff of your shorty sock make a detour around your ankles?
Does your short row heel stop just a little too short so it slips off your heel?
Do you sometimes get gaps when you start knitting in the round after working the heel?

Nothing too complicated, but I have some tweaks to the standard sock recipe written out--and not too heavy on numbers--so you can play with a tube that has several modifications to enhance the fit of your socks.

If you like unusual sock (and other knitting) construction and shaping, I have other patterns here on Ravelry and demonstration and podcast videos on my Color Loops Knitting YouTube channel.
