This pattern has a matching children pattern with 6 sizes for ages 1-2 to 10-12 years. You can buy the 2 of them as a booklet for only 10 EUR.
If you buy only the adult pattern, but at a later point decide to get the children one, you will get a 2 EUR discount (applied automatically).

Construction:
The tee is knit mainly top-down, straight, with bust darts, optional purl ridges along the main body to give it a lightly tailored look (without actual waist shaping!) and optional A-line shaping:

  • Work the circular yoke flat sideways in garter stitch (using short-rows for shaping, incl. raised back-neck, and creating the print). Seam it together at center back and decorate the neckline with an applied I-cord for stability.
  • Pick up yoke edge stitches & knit the body top-down in the round (straight, or with A-line) with purl ridges continuing the yoke print.
  • The hem is worked sideways in garter stitch to match the yoke (you can also choose to stripe it, continuing the established vertical lines). Finish knitting with I-cord edges along the hem and armholes.

You can choose out of 3 main color options (feel free to improvise further!): the yoke uses 2 colors (main - MC, contrast - CC), the body can be knit in any of those, or a 3rd one!
(see samples & schematic in the pattern photos!)

Sizes: the pattern includes 14 adult sizes: for 80-153cm/32-60” bust. You can see the standard sizes in the table & schematic in the pattern photos.
The pattern also includes instructions on how to adjust for wider hips by adding A-line shaping

Yarn: fingering to sport-weight yarn with high linen content (~300-320m/330-350 yds per 100g/3.5oz) in 2 or 3 colors (you will need a total of 200-450g/7-16oz, see requirements per size & color-blocking option in the pattern photos!).
You can also replace with cotton, yardages may vary.

Suggested yarns:

Needles:

  • Main: 3.25mm/US 3 (or size to get gauge!) circulars on a 60-80cm/24-32” cable;
  • I-cord/hem: 3mm/US 2.5 (or 1 size smaller than the main) circulars on a 60-80cm/24-32” cable;
  • For the hem, you might want to use an additional 3mm/US 2.5 DPN to make it less fiddly.

Notions: waste yarn, crochet hook, stitch markers, row counter (optional), tapestry needle, scissors

Gauge: (per 10x10cm/4x4” after wet blocking)

  • Garter stitch: 22 stitches by 23 ridges (46 rows);
  • Stockinette: 24 stitches by 32 rows
