Bring on the sun! This is just the thing to knit when you are aching for spring. Choose a happy-making, ready for the sunshine colour like The Knit Cafe’s limited edition, Yarn Club 2018 colour, hand dyed by Madelinetosh. It’s called “Sunprint”. Named for the very scientific but seemingly magical photo-emulsion that transforms paper and fabrics into the most beautiful shade of blue-cyan.
Once you have your favourite spring colour in hand, knitting a warm weather neckerchief seems obvious; little something to wear around town with a zing of colour but not too much warmth. Sunprint is a fingering weight triangular shawl knit with not too much depth but long enough to wrap the neck and even tie up the ends if you feel so inclined. Now if you please, scan your stash for just the right complimentary colour. The Sunprint shawlette’s finale is a striped border. Zing!
Sunprint is knit starting at the neck edge with just a few stitches and increasing every row. Stocking stitch is broken up with garter stitch ridges and easy-breezy eyelet rows to add textural interest.
