The fifth and final shawl of the Be Mine collection, a set of floral-inspired shawlettes designed to be both simple and sweet.

I have a lovely knitting friend who loved the crescent shape of Sugar Is Sweet and the floral mesh border of Violets Are Blue--thus Sugared Violets was born. The top-down body is worked in stockinette and is graced by single eyelet ridges before the Fleurette border. Samples are shown in fingering weight yarn, but any weight yarn may be used (adjust yardage accordingly). The size is easily adjusted by changing the size of the body or by adding additional rows of Fleurette mesh (see Notes). Written instructions are used, with a schematic chart of the Fleurette repeat for reference.

Skill level: Easy.

Because of the construction of the crescent shape from the top-down, you may experience slight puckering or tightness at the garter edge. This type of edge helps to form the crescent shape. However, if this bothers you, try going up a needle size or making a double yo at the edge at either the RS or WS increases (thanks to mintmocha for this idea).
