Storm Poncho
Super Poncho for Autumn and Winter, can be worn on its own over a T-shirt or layered over a jacket.
Due to the needle size, it knits up quickly so you won’t need to wait long before you can enjoy wearing it or being able to give it as a gift. Great to keep you warm and cosy on a winter’s day.
You can use an chunky yarn you like. You will need 690 meters / 755 yards. I used a soft yarn by Katia, called Alaska in a light grey colour, one of my favourite shades which is a great neutral shade.
This poncho is made up from five panels.
The front panel is the most challenging but it is easy to follow and the most rewarding section. It is a combination of cable stitches to create a striking front. You will need an 8mm (US 11) Cable needle.
It is knitted flat, back and forth on single point straight needles.
This pattern is written in full, easy to follow instructions in English, with both British and American terms throughout.
