This poncho is full of texture and a great cover up for the beach or a summer evening.

This is an easy pattern. Great for a beginner you only need to know basic stitches, cast/bind on and off, knit and purl.
The pattern is written in full, easy to follow instructions, in English with both British and American terms throughout.

I used a soft aran wool from Phildar (Philsoft) which had a mix of dark and pale shades of green, thick enough to give warmth but not too chunky. You can use any aran or a double-knit wool you like, but test the gauge first (see ‘Tension/Gauge’ section).

It is knitted back and forth on circular needles (I have used this type of needles because of the width). The larger size needles for this yarn give the shawl a looser feel.

It can be worn off the shoulder on an asymmetrical angle or in a traditional style.

This item knits up quickly, so you won’t need to wait long too before you can enjoy wearing it or being able to give it as a gift.
