Square Coaster
This knitting pattern makes a striped mitred square in garter stitch. One square makes a drinks coaster, but you could also knit a bundle and sew your squares together to make place mats, blankets, bags, or purses. Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the coaster is knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles.
NEEDLES
A pair of 4mm single pointed knitting needles (US 6).
RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; a few grammes in each colour.
NOTIONS
Tapestry needle.
SIZES
One size only - 10cm square.
TECHNIQUES
For beginners and above, other techniques used include slipping stitches and decreases.
