Tube socks, good for beginning knitters. These are knitted in a spiral rib, in any size. There is no shaped heel.

Pattern Description from The Sweater Workshop: “These tube-shaped socks are adaptable to fit any foot, from infant’s size to Paul Bunyan’s extra, extra large. This particular pattern calls for a multiple of 4 stitches, as a knit 4, purl 4 rib has a good amount of elasticity. For beginning knitters, a generic 4-ply worsted-weight yarn is fine for practice; after that, a finer sock yarn may be desirable. The sock may be made short or long, and the decrease rounds should start when the sock reaches the base of the little toe.”

Note: “These directions are for the 4-ply yarn. If using a finer sock yarn, you might want to work a size larger and drop down one or two needle sizes.

Yarn: 4-ply worsted weight

Needles: set of 4 double-pointed needles, #4 or #5
