SNIGH ANORAK

……………………..

One of my earliest memories as a child visiting the countryside, is walking through a field obscured by morning fog. The field was full of sheep, whom I could sense rather than see. Not knowing which way to go, I stood still, in cloud, marvelling at their warmth and the vibrations of their
energetic chewing as they wandered in circles around me. I pushed back the cuff of my coat and pinched my arm to check, was this a dream? But the pinch left a mark and I felt the tingle. A real day, a real place, and real sheep.

This memory came to the surface when I first held in my arms a bundle of white undyed Varv. And immersed in that surreal recollection, I began knitting.

A simple yet considered design that plays with texture and proportion, Snigh is a soothing outdoor hoodie eager to ensconce its wearer in a lucid dream as they navigate the coldest
 of days.

Snigh means ‘flow’ in Irish Gaelic, as well as (phonetically) ‘dreams’ in Ukrainian.
