Smoky Mountain rain, it keeps on fallin’
I keep on callin’ her name
Smoky Mountain rain, I’ll keep on searchin’
I can’t go on hurtin’ this way
She’s somewhere in the Smoky Mountain rain

There are three sizes: small (medium, large), with 70 (78, 86) stitches per round in the leg and 68 (74, 82) stitches per round in the foot. Any fingering weight sock yarn can be used, but solid colours are recommended. The sock is worked cuff-down with a wider-than-usual heel flap. Instructions are provided for a classic wedge toe.

This pattern is written for the magic loop technique with one long circular needle. Instructions are charted, although the heel turn, gusset decreases, and toe decreases are written. The pattern assumes that you are familiar with basic sock knitting concepts, cuff-down sock construction, and chart reading, and thus I do not recommend this pattern if you have never knit a sock before.

The pattern has been tested in all sizes.
