Sierra Springs Poncho
This classic knit poncho is so simple and fun to make. I’m a big fan of designing relaxing patterns for all levels of knitters. I like to use stitch patterns that look interesting but are easy to work. I love this pattern because it’s simple enough to work while socializing, but has enough interest to keep the knitter motivated. After casting on and working a simple border, you’ll knit side-to-side whereby each row has a stockinette stitch section and a four-row repeat slip-stitch lace pattern. After just a few repeats, you might find that you no longer need to consult your pattern as each completed row is a guide to the next. The resulting shape is a rectangle that is folded over, partially seamed at the top, then tacked on the side to create an armhole. This is a try-on-as-you-go kind of project that is easy to test for fit. It comes in five sizes (XS/S - XXL). I included a link to a demonstration video for special stitches and techniques used in this pattern.
