The inspiration for the Shifting jacket came from reflecting on change. With the pattern of the cardigan, I wanted to express gradual progress, adaptation to situations and needs, but also the idea of a complete life transformation. A quest for balance, with a bit of wobbling along the way. To me, Shifting represents a change of direction—a statement that I am too old to struggle with things I cannot control.

The cardigan is knit from the top down. In the pattern, twisted stitches change direction at regular intervals. Along the way, there are small bobbles, which can also be left out if you prefer not to knit them.

Needles
US 8 / 5 mm circular needle (min. length 32″ / 80 cm) for body and sleeves. Sleeves are worked using magic loop technique, or with DPNs.
US 7 / 4.5 mm (min. length 32″ / 80 cm) circular needle or DPNs for ribbing.
Adjust the needle size to get the correct gauge.

Shifting-takin inspiraatio on lähtenyt muutoksen pohdinnasta. Takin kuviolla halusin ilmentää asteittaista etenemistä, mukautumista tilanteisiin ja tarpeisiin, mutta myös kokonaista elämänmuutosta. Hakeutumista tasapainoon, mutta hiukan heilumista siinä matkalla. Shifting on minulle suunnanmuutos, toteamus siitä, että olen liian vanha kipuillakseni asioiden kanssa, joille en voi mitään.

Takki neulotaan ylhäältä alas. Paidan kuviossa kierretyt silmukat vaihtavat suuntaa säännöllisesti. Matkalla on nyppyjä, jotka voi myös jättää neulomatta, jos niitä ei halua neuloa.
