Shibori Sock
I designed these socks as a birthday present to my daughter, and a reminder to the summer we had. I hope you enjoy the easy rhythm of the color work and fun ways to add color to your life.
Designer: Julia Schwartz
Yarn: Your favorite sock yarn. 3 colors needed. Color A: 16g, Color B: 20g, Color C: 25g. Model is sized as an 8 woman’s.
Needles: #2 2.75 32-36 inch circular needles #4 3.5 32 -36 inch circular needle, or corresponding dpns
Notions: Yarn needle to weave in your ends, up to 5 stitch markers.
Gauge: 8 to 9 stitches per inch
Size: Woman’s adult sock
Stitches used: K (knit), p (purl), k2tog (knit 2 together), pbl (purl through the back loop, w&t (wrap and turn), Pm (place marker), Sm (slip marker)
Notes:
Make sure your floats are no more than 5 stitches wide.
This pattern is worked in the round starting with a cast on at the cuff and finishing with the kitchener stitch at the toes.
Make a special note about which yarn color is your dominant color.
All stitches are knit in the chart, slip marker at the beginning of every round, and chart repeat.
