Sherwood Maiden
This tunic is as much contemporary as it has a bit of an old world charm, hence the name “Sherwood Maiden”.
Knitted on sizes 5 and 6 needles either 29” or 32” in length this tunic works up in individual pieces. Every piece sports a different stitch, which makes for a fun and anything but boring project.
The pattern is written and shows lots of photos. This tunic is an exciting knit for an advanced beginner as well as a seasoned knitter.
The tunic is definitely chic and makes a bold statement.
I used Zen Garden “Serenity Silk Single” yarns to create the original tunic shown with the red middle part.
430 yards each.
Colors: Black Mousse, Rustic Wine, Arctic
This yarn is a delight to knit with.
My second tunic shown in a more muted color version I knitted in Mary Gavan’s “Canyon” yarn.
330 yards each of a cotton/rayon sport weight for the top in the color “Blue Slate”. For the other portions I used “Blue Slate” and “Espresso”.
I love the structure of this yarn for the tunic!
Enjoy your “Sherwood Maiden Tunic!
