September Quilt
This is the ninth in a series of twelve mini knitted pictures, published throughout 2017. Each little quilt is about the size of a postcard and has its own knitted binding to frame it. The quilts are buttoned on to a small wire hanger with a knitted sleeve so that they can be changed for a new quilt each month.
As well as making them as a knitted calendar, these little pictures could be used for blankets or anything else that needs a bit of decoration. The pieces for the pictures are knitted separately and sewn on to the background so they could be added to hats, scarves or bags too.
September marks the start of the new school year here in England so this month’s quilt features a notebook and some coloured pencils. I’ve used a button and some simple embroidery to decorate my book, you could add a child’s name instead.
All my ravelry patterns are free to download but, if you enjoy them, please consider making a donation to the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation, a charity which funds research and supports the families of children with a liver disease. You can do this easily by going to my fundraising page www.justgiving.com/frankiesknittedstuff
