Scrappy Toque
This hat is made in a style traditional to many northern peoples. It’s worked in the round, shaped sort of like a big deflated (American) football. To wear it, you push one end into the other, making a reversible double-thick hat. Then, if you have made it generously long, you can fold up the brim, which puts four layers of fabric over your ears and forehead, where you need them most.
Skills needed:
Circular knitting, increases, decreases
Finished measurements
Choose a size a little smaller than your actual head measurement. When you fold up the brim, it will make the hat fit more snugly, so resist the urge to size down too much unless you don’t plan to fold up the brim.
