Sardona Cowl
Call it a cowl, a neckwarmer, a collar: Sardona will be your reliable companion through the cold season! The clever shape sits nicely on your shoulders and can be worn either high up or folded over. And the best thing: the combination of brioche stitches with simple double-knitting elements makes it fully reversible, which gives you at least four different styling options.
Skills required: Basic knitting techniques (such as knitting and purling in the round, casting on and binding off, slipping stitches), and two-colour brioche knitting in the round.
Both written and charted instructions are included, as well as photo tutorials for the two different types of brioche decreases.
Each round is worked twice, with one colour at a time. There are only three different pattern rounds overall, which can be repeated until the desired height is reached.
Measurements
Circumference: 48 cm/19’’
Height: 24 cm/9.5’’ from the lowest to the highest point
Yarn requirements: two contrasting colours; approximately 120 (150) m / 131 (164) yards of each colour
This design is named after a world natural heritage site in the Swiss Alps. Layers of different rocks and a conspicuous “magic line” running through the mountainous panorama make the Sardona area a popular destination for geologists, hikers and photographers alike.
