Bring some festive cheer to Christmas breakfast with a Santa Hat egg cosy! This is a great project for beginner knitters to try as this is knitted flat on straight needles (not in the round). You just need to know three stitches: knit, purl and a k2tog decrease. Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the cosy is knitted in acrylic DK yarns

NEEDLES
A pair of 4mm straight single pointed knitting needles (US 6)

RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; a few grammes of Red and White yarns

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle and a 2cm pompom to decorate

SIZES
One size only - The egg cosy (not including the pompom bobble) is 7cm tall x 8cm wide (un-stretched).

TECHNIQUES
For beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, and seaming to finish.
