Hyacinth the Hedgehog
This sweet cushion is cosy and comforting; the fluffy and soft faux fur yarn is ideal for making a cuddly hedgehog to bring some woodland delight to your home.
The decorative flowers can also be made as brooches for jewellery or to decorate other projects; simply sew a safety pin onto the back of the flower to convert to a brooch.
The hedgehog’s body is made from two identical side pieces which are sewn together around the outer edges.
Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the hedgehog is knit on single pointed needles (not in the round).
NEEDLES:
A pair each of 3.5mm & 4mm single pointed knitting needles (US 4 & 6).

For the faux fur yarn, two 50g (90m) skeins of King Cole Moments DK; 100% polyester. For the acrylic DK yarns, King Cole Pricewise DK and King Cole Dollymix DK; 100% acrylic, less than 50g in each shade.
NOTIONS:
Tapestry needle, toy filling, and domed black buttons for eyes.
SIZES:
One size only - The hedgehog is 36cm long x 20cm tall.
TECHNIQUES:
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
