I’ve always wanted to make a striped sweater with little thin stripes. My favorite part of this cardigan is how the two slipped stitch columns at the front shoulder, the two slipped stitch columns at the back shoulder and the single slipped stitch column at the underarm all join and travel together at the side.

This cardigan is worked in 1 piece, in the round from the top-down in a raglan construction. Sleeves are separated at the underarm and then picked up later to finish. When the body and sleeves are complete, the bridge stitches of the cardigan are cut and steeked. I used a crocheted steek, which creates a nice finished edge and the bridge stitches become a nice facing. You can use your own preferred steeking method. The button band is picked up after the steeking is complete. The top button is just for decoration.

Gauge

• 21 sts and 27 rows = 4″ / 10 cm in Stockinette stitch worked in the round with alternating stripes (1 round MC, 1 round CC) using larger needles
• 21 sts and 32 rows = 4″ / 10 cm in 1×1 ribbing pattern (a little stretched) using smaller needles
