Repeto Sweater is a modern and relaxed garment for everyday use. Repeto gets is look by repeating purl and knit rows in the hem, but the real trick is in your elbows: the panels made by short rows give some extra space for the elbows and they are the coolest detail of the sweater.

The design of the sweater is relaxed, and the V shape gives some space for your body. You can wear it with a tank top, a basic tee or a silky blouse. Layering looks great because the sweater is a little bit cropped as contemporary garments are. If you want to add more length, just work more rows.

The oversized shoulders prop up the vision of a trendy item, and the neckline is wide so it’s pleasant to wear too.

The sweater is knit seamlessly from the top down. First you cast on provisionally the shoulder pieces, work and combine them by ripping off your provisional CO. Then you join in round to work the body and finish the neckline. Now there’re only sleeves to go! Pick up the stitches and you’re almost done.

If you want to underline you last detail, you can duplicate a small Repeto motif in the hem. And then repeat the sweater!

Shown here in size M (36). The sample is knit of Walk Collection Cottage Merino in colorway Cream-Cherry Brittle.

You need:
Yarn
• 3, 3 (4, 4, 4) skeins of fingering weight yarn (approx. 366 m / 100 g) (400 yd / 3,5 oz). Yardage approx. 290, 300 (330, 370, 400) g / 1000, 1100 (1200, 1350, 1450) m, 10, 10,5 (11,5, 13, 14,1) oz / 1090, 1200 (1300, 1480, 1600) yd. Merino single and sock yarn suggested: Walk Collection Cottage Merino, La Bien Aimee Merino singles, Lystig Yarn
Merino singles, Hedgehog Fibres, Madelinetosh Tosh Light or any yarn
that goes nicely to gauge.
• 1 m/ 1,1 yd of popping color for duplicated stitch pattern (optional)
• Waste yarn for provisional CO
• 3 st markers (2 for the body/sleeves and 1 for measuring the body)

Needles & others
• Main needle: 3,75 mm (US5) 80 or 120 cm (31 or 47”) circular needle or size to obtain gauge. I prefer the longer one just to try the sweater from time to time.
• Sleeve needle: 3,75 mm (US5) DPN’s if you don’t use the magic loop method.
• Hem needle: 3 mm (US3) 80 cm (31”) circular needle.
• Neckline needle: 3 mm (US3) 40 cm (15”) circular needle if you don’t use the magic loop method with the longer one.
• Cuff needle: 3 mm (US3) DPN’s if you don’t use the magic loop method.
• 3,5 mm crochet hook for crochet CO (suggested but optional).
• Tapestry needle for duplicating sts (optiona) and finishing.
• Waste yarn for provisional CO.

Sizes: S, M (L, XL, XXL) / Your bust 85, 90 (100, 110, 120) cm / 34, 36 (40, 44, 48)”
Finished sweater bust circumference approx. 107, 115 (125, 135, 137) cm / 43, 46 (50, 54, 55)”.
Note that this is an oversized sweater on bust and shoulders so the sizes don’t grow evenly. The idea is to choose a size that has approx. 15-20 cm / 6-8” of positive ease on bust, but you can fit in the smaller sizes too because of the positive ease. Then the sweater isn’t just that wide. On larger sizes, also the sizes sleeve circumference grows and the biggest change is more space in the body.
